The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at the residence of West Bengal Cabinet Minister Chandra Nath Sinha as part of its investigation into the Bengal teacher recruitment scandal. During the raid on Friday, the central investigating agency seized a total of Rs 41 lakh in cash. The source of this substantial sum remained undisclosed by the Cabinet Minister. The extensive operation, which commenced at 9 am and concluded around 10.30 pm, saw the ED team scouring the premises of Minister Chandra Nath Sinha in Bolpur, Birbhum, among various other locations. The probe, lasting approximately 13 hours, included thorough interrogation sessions.
In the ongoing investigation of the teacher recruitment scam, the ED team recovered a register from TMC Youth Wing leader Kuntal Ghosh, from which Minister Chandra Nath Sinha's name emerged. Ghosh, previously apprehended by the ED in connection with the scandal, provided critical leads that led to the raid on the minister's residence.
